Expand and Improve Locker Room Facilities

Project Description:

The original locker rooms were designed with 66 lockers in both the Boy's and Girl's locker rooms. Due to expansion of the athletics program within the Grandview C-4 School District, the need to support larger teams has been long overdue.

 

The new  design includes 115 lockers in each locker room include 30 athletic-style open-front lockers. The original design included six semi-private shower stalls on the Boy's side only. Now both rooms have access to private showers. In addition, the training area, which was previously handled within a storage area, is now a dedicated space specific to training and is directly accessible from both locker rooms. The new layout accommodates non-binary athletes by providing a separate restroom and shower facility within the Training Area.

 

The layout also accommodates cross-gender coaching scenarios to allow full access to the Coach's Office area, central to the building, without having to enter either locker room.

For durability and longevity, the locker rooms are finished with epoxy floors, high-performance epoxy walls, and solid phenolic lockers and benches.

The wall graphics were designed by Alinea Architects utilizing the District's branding standards and slogans to create graphics unique to the Fieldhouse but easily identifiable as part of the District's brand.
